Totally unfair! - UPDATED

I watched American Idol last nite. Ive been doing that each yr since about the third yr. I get sick at watching those crazy auditions but its nice to see that some good talent does pop up. This yrs group is heavily loaded with talent for a change. There are 3 that I thought would make it to the end. One of them was voted off last nite. Michael Johns.

Now if you have been watching you know.....not only is he incredibly talented but hes cute. But apparently that's not enough. People get to vote each week .........well not people........kids, teens ..........children. And that's whats ruining this show. Think about it. It happened last yr with that Sanjaya guy. He sucked but all the kids voted to keep him on as a joke. You have to vote by text msg. and who controls tons of the cell phones in America? Kids! While I realize that they are looking for a new American Idol each yr and the age range of course is for younger ones, giving control of the outcome to kids is stupid.

So this week.......Michael Johns got voted off. He can sing The Doors music and Queen and he gets voted off? How many people do you know that can sing Queen songs and actually hit those notes? Someone out there is not listening. And when I saw this , this week, I was really mad. Yea I know American Idol in the scheme of things isn't really that important. But you would think so if you were up there. So when I went to bed last nite I thought , maybe he will end up like Chris Daughtry. They voted him off too and he was the best. Now hes making music, on his own terms and without American Idol.

And they way they did it was horrid. They had the big telethon Idol Gives back this week. Last year they did the eliminations but then said because of the Idol Gives back they were not eliminating anyone. This yr. Ryan Seacrest was rotten. He spoke of how it was done last yr. and then said sorry but not this yr, your going home. Ryan has been getting nastier and nastier as a host. I think its time HE was voted off! So Michael was let go and not in a nice way. What a crappy show. I doubt Ill be watching anymore.

I keep trying to tell myself Michael is better off anyways. American Idol controls you if you win. Even after all these yrs. Kelly Clarkson is demanding to finally sing what she wants to sing and did with her last album. If you make it to the top ten and are any good , most likely someone somewhere will pick you up and want to make music with you.

So while I went to bed disappointed and sad for Michael I woke up to the morning news. My grandson told me he was going to be on in a few min. so I watched. Apparently Dolly Parton who was on a couple weeks ago really loves Michael. This morning she called him......told him she wants to write songs with him and do a duet. You cant do any better than that. To have a huge name like Dolly with all the influence she has ........want you ......well stay tuned. Michael will be on his way and without American Idol. You lose American Idol. Now go kiss lil Davids ass cuz hes just a kid and will do whatever you say just to sing. Yuck.

And if you dont know who he is ......heres why I love him .....You go Michael you may be out but Ill be in line for your first album!!!!!!! It dont get any better!
